The objective of this research area is to further develop the potential of non-standard architecture in terms of a data-driven design approach to enables designs to be informed and based on locally specific circumstances and conditions. In so doing the research area is located within the Performance-oriented Architecture approach (Hensel, 3013) and utlizes research-by-design within an integrated research and teaching environment. The RCAT | ACDL Studio serves as the laboratory for this research that integrtes master and PhD level research.
